I think I'm going to start using 'biking' more.

With the full hardware seen at the back and all the bolts.
So a moderately hefty 4.2kg for frame+fork, like 700g more than a Faran 1 as an example

Thats it! Name confusion resolved. Great bike.
My question was just what width tyre you could fit beneath those guards.
I’ve ridden the 38 GK slicks for summer and run 47mm knobbies during winter. Kind of wondering if a 60mm guard would look shit on 38s... I guess. But two sets of guards sucks..
I’ve joined the local audax club so I’m guessing guards will be appreciated.

Ta. Pretty chonky, seems they've built with loaded riding in mind.

I think so. Suits me fine, it's doubling up as my new tourer!

people not in the global north or wherever aren't entering into some pristine culture and fucking everything up when they are going about for tourism. globalization is already there and it can often get quite condescending when we are saying what is and is not good for local people. i feel like the biggest failure of foreign aid has been driven by paternalism.
that said i agree we should be aware of the conditions of any labor we pay for, regardless of where it takes place.

was very careful not to mention this dynamic, you can actually look at the lake district, the great barrier reef, Ayers Rock, or even architectural preservations such as churches which suffer preservation issues due to foot traffic and cruises in the Mediterranean for home and away examples!
i don't want anyone thinking im a oxfam colonialist now :^)

haha i mean i get it is a complicated issue. i don't disagree really, just noting tradeoffs.
bike touring is very low impact compared to other forms of tourism!

Thanks, are we talking the same frame?
The current 650b VO mudguards (perhaps a touch wide) work nicely with the 38s, once adjusted, and ok 650 47s (pictured) but I don't think you'd get a 47 700 and 60 wide mudguard to work with this frame.
The VO zeppelin work well with 43GKSks and could be persuaded to work with the 38gk.This was a revelation:-

Yup exactly. Very rollover, so spinning, such wide bars, wow.

I actually rode it. It isn't for me, but it doesn't handle outrageous or anything. Surprisingly light, too. For its two intended uses, it totally makes sense:
If you've ever ridden Australian corrugated gravel and know how much of it there is in the centre, you see the point of the wheel size for that application.
Curve are successfully stirring the social media pot and are getting publicity
Frame is medium and ~2.5kg without sliders/headset/thru axle. Uncut fork 1.44kg. No lightweight but not as bad as I was expecting. Especially the fork
I have to work now (boo) but I'll remove the wheels and get the bare weight with sliders and axles + without the headset/seatclamp/etc. later.
