I have no idea why I consistently follow this thread, I dislike actual gravel bikes and they make me angry. Maybe I just love to hate'em.

You're probably right, or the other theory I have is that it serves like the Anti-porn thread. How can I know what is right unless I already know what is wrong? Plus the 'point-and-laugh' value.
