  • people not in the global north or wherever aren't entering into some pristine culture and fucking everything up when they are going about for tourism. globalization is already there and it can often get quite condescending when we are saying what is and is not good for local people. i feel like the biggest failure of foreign aid has been driven by paternalism.

    that said i agree we should be aware of the conditions of any labor we pay for, regardless of where it takes place.
