You can use a longer fork like this https://www.ebay.com/itm/HYLIX-1-1-8-700-32-Disk-Brake-Rigid-Carbon-Fork-420g-12-100-Thru-Axle-Flat-Mount/201578020770?_trkparms=aid%3D1110012%26algo%3DSPLICE.SOIPOST%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20201210111451%26meid%3D3d07f58c2ea843c5ab355d9c7c09ac12%26pid%3D101196%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D203126511367%26itm%3D201578020770%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675%26algv%3DPromotedSellersOtherItemsV2WithMLRv3%26brand%3DHylix&_trksid=p2047675.c101196.m2219 and change the lower part of the headset to a semi integrated one in this way you would have the same head angle and bottom bracket height

Yeah i was thinking of swapping it to SI as it's part of the pic n mix range. Pulls back about 8mm so would get the Hylix down to about 372. Seems like a lot of faff for a 32c though, my current Columbus fork (367) clears a 30c G one. Pacer fork would work but i really want straight blades.

I don't know if it's worth the faff but i think that at 380 atc for that hylix 32mm seem really conservative. I have a 385mm carbon fork that fit 32mm with 2cm to spare (40mm max declared) so i imagine a 380mm fork can fit a 38mm easy but i understand that it's a risk

more like 2cm = +1 degree

I've found and gone for a silly steel fork as if it doesn't work out on the Dart it'll be well suited to a steamroller frame i'm after. ATC is 380 and i think it'll clear a 38c. With the Hope lower headset swap i should only be adding about 8mm height to the Dart. Problem is it's 35mm rake so with bigger tyres i may be introducing masses of overlap. Guess i'll find out soon enough.

A BLB track frame can take 35mm tyres, huh.
-
• #316
It is a tricky one, but it can def be repaired
-
• #317
Well yeah, that’s what I meant by not worth it. I’m gonna see if anyone wants it for a welding project.

Was pretty delighted to find the aventon has an internal (zs44) headset so switched that out for a superstar ec44 one to run a tapered fork. And almost... got my calculations wrong and the bars are too long/not enough rise, but an easy fix when I can be bothered.

Well thats great news!!
Superstar are the best value for money headsets!! nice work!
This is pretty great. Although I did 20 miles fixed in the mud at 56gi and my knees were absolutely done by then so 63 seems big for muck
