Honestly, don't listen to me; I've only been three times and last time was before Tier 4 London.
Hardtail was much more type 1 fun than on a CX bike.

Yeah, hardtail is perfect for Swinley. I was more wondering if the feds are hanging round in the carpark with extremely tight definitions of "local" and fining people

Avoid the carpark entirely by ditching it off the dual carriageway and into the woods, cover with branches and leaves, shred away...

Parking in the housing estate over the bridge is common, but tbh I've found that driving straight into the car park is fine. Yes, I'm stretching the definition of local to mean "within 30 miles", but driving to the woods to ride my bike on my own on easy trails is something I'm comfortable with.

It's the easy (and reasonably mud-free) trails I'm interested in. Cheers, I reckon it's worth a convo with a copper for.

FWIW I'll probably head there tomorrow myself despite the freezing rain that is on the forecast at the moment, I'd offer you a lift but Covid.

How can you tell how bad it is by looking out the window from a warm kitchen? Go out for an hour, then decide how bad it is.
