I get this obsession The worst question I ever asked in the HK office was what rice cooker should I get. Proper kicked off between the rice cooker v multi cooker factions then they aligned by brand and carried on for another few more days.
Got to say that in a UK kitchen, if you want a rice cooker imo a multi cooker is much more sensible. My mate was looking at one that did slow cooking as well - which is the one quazi-cooker kitchen gadget I like. Well maybe a breadmaker, but probably not.
Life without rice cooker is not life worth living. Hong Kong fiancées family genuinely put more thought into buying their last rice cooker than their last car.
It's a bit like saying you don't need a kettle because you can boil water in a pot and then ladle it into your mug for a cup of tea but who would?
This one is very decent and not too spendy.
