Bought this on PS digital sale back in November 2020.
Only bought for the PS5 upgrade, so didn’t even download it and was literally waiting for the upgraded version to drop and now they announce it will be free :D

Bought control on sale ahead of the ps5 uplift and now it's the free game of the month, got to be the 4th time this has happened to me. Not even downloaded it yet.
According to this you can get a refund up to 14 days from purchase if you haven’t downloaded yet.
