Wot? No Spoony?
Yeah. Sure it has changed but Savage encompassed everything wrong with the coverage of football, in general.
Infantile. Reliant on clown-like ex-player "characters." A depth of analysis built on surface coating of platitudes and adages. Tepid regurguation of age old "wisdom" from old white guys who would never have made it as pros in todays game. "Jeans and sheux" behind a mic.
But it's too late. Haven't paid attention to football in 7 years. Don't miss it.
tl:dr - Robbie Savage killed a lifelong love of a game by epitomising everything wrong with the sport.

That's just your opinion though. (Savage's 606 stock reply)
Radio 5 has, to my mind, had a bit of a resurgence in the past few years. Mark Chapman with Chris Sutton and Micah Richards is regularly joyous and they've also realised that you need to put a proper pundit/journalist together with the 'characters' so you get some reasonable analysis and insight too. In general their football coverage is more varied, definitely less white middle aged and you hear some interesting opinions on a relatively regular basis. And - as long as you avoid the nonsense phone-ins neither Campbell nor Savage are anywhere to be seen...
....all of the above is purely re evening and weekend output. Fuck knows what they do in the day.
