I used to listen to Peterson religiously from the Radio 1 days over to 6 Music but haven't for a while now, maybe its the though of accidentally catching Liz Kershaw. Do like Don Letts + Craig Charles but Colin Curtis is on at the same time on Worldwide.

Liz Kershaw is doing someone out of a job. Same for Lamaque and Mary Ann Hobbs.

Though they're not necessarily my cup of tea, I don't mind Cairney and MAH - I don't get the same cloying vibe of false bonhomie that I do from Lamé and Kershaw (who both generate the same 'instant switch over' reaction).

He does eat out of bins and shits on people’s doorsteps though

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but my word I absolutely despise the way 6Music puts those various distorted/super reverb effects on peoples' voices during trailers. This is done in order, I guess, to make them sound a bit more hip/edgy.

After almost a decade of working in radio, I absolutely cannot abide music radio anymore. Amy Lame is a half decent US college radio jock at best. Cerys whateverthehellhernameis drives me up the wall. It only takes 10 seconds into every interview before she mentions her time in the US. Only Iggy Pop's music director is worth a shit.

Nicky Campbell and Robbie Savage both killed Radio 5 Live for me. Especially Robbie Savage. Fuck do I hate Robbie Savage.

Radio 5 has, to my mind, had a bit of a resurgence in the past few years. Mark Chapman with Chris Sutton and Micah Richards is regularly joyous and they've also realised that you need to put a proper pundit/journalist together with the 'characters' so you get some reasonable analysis and insight too. In general their football coverage is more varied, definitely less white middle aged and you hear some interesting opinions on a relatively regular basis. And - as long as you avoid the nonsense phone-ins neither Campbell nor Savage are anywhere to be seen...
