I got the Genesis whilst I was in my previous job. I was mostly commuting, doing some gravel and occasional road rides on my own. Now having a group of colleagues that are mates who ride regularly on road, I'm less bothered about tyre clearance and want something faster and more fun which is why I've been on the CAAD so much.
I'm happy for it to stay that way, I'll have the 3t for any off road duties when I finally get around to fixing it. The CAAD will get replaced with something in the future which will be a labour of love. Similar bike but TA and all internal fully hidden wiring/hoses.
But first up is the winter bike.
It isn't going to be needed until next year or for wet rides in summer/autumn but I basically want to replicate the fast summer road bike feel, only with mudguards.
The genesis will take a 42c tyre, it's quite heavy (a good thing for off road and commuting) and it's not a perfect fit
So the plan is to build myself a winter fast road bike (after the queue of other builds, don't worry Tijmen)
Inspo
I love the clean fender mounting on the wishbone. Clean lines and no clutter are going to be a priority.
2x Shimano R8070
I've got a carbon fork with dynamo internal routing
I may go QR, not sure yet
28c tyres with guards
Carbon fenders are a possibility
