  • What's exciting about an inverter?

    AFAIK it only means the lower power modes actually do what they say rather than alternating on and off, but who uses those?

  • defrosting stuff seems to be significantly better on my panasonic than my girlfriends cheapy microwave. in that chicken for example comes out defrosted on mine, and cooked at the edges and ice in the middle on hers (unless you take it out halfway through and chop it into pieces then put back)

  • Microwaves are good for about 3 things - heating milk, reheating cooked food, and reheating from frozen.

    Two of those don't need full power, particularly reheating from frozen.

    An inverter means that you can heat more evenly over time / volume, without as much risk of hot spots & cold spots.
