it is the only interesting thing about the Premier League this season.
Really? I know, as a Derby fan, you're looking over your shoulder at Rotherham rather than being drawn to the heady heights of the title race, but this season is cracking. Leaders changing a couple of times a week, realistically seven teams in it (including Everton, Leicester and West Ham), Liverpool, Spurs and Chelsea currently out of the CL places...

I know there's been a record number of teams at he top of the table this season (MotD fact from last night). However, it doesn't seem as exciting as the last time Leicester won it. No team seems to be consistent, which is why there are so many involved at the top and I would say that Man U are probably more of an outsider than Leicester on recent history. I wouldn't mind Leicester winning it again.
I can only see Man City going the distance though.
Plucky lil Liverpool are struggling with problems that no other team in history has ever endured.
Ole is due a run of games where the whole team goes missing and they scrape a few draws through undeserved penalties.
Tottenham will never win anything with Harry Kane in the team.
West Ham are an injury to Antonio or Soucek away from their usual mid-table finish.
Everton had a flyer early on and have steadied to an above average position.
Leicester are steady under Brendan and I really rate the team. Maddison is getting important goals to get the results, so missing Vardy isn't as big an issue as it could be.
Villa are still there or thereabouts, another team who started really well. Well drilled with a strong spine through the team, but I think the inexperience of the youthful team will fade a bit more through the season and they have to fit in extra games in the run in when other teams will get a small breather. As for Derby and the Championship. It's been a horror season so far and shows no sign of getting much better at the moment. A terrible start and off-field distractions have put us in a bad place. A proposed takeover that is unlikely to happen has led to serious financial problems at a bad time and that has tied our hands with current squad and any potential reinforcements needed to get to safety easier. I guess the only redeeming thing is that we are level with Forest and they are there without going through the same kind of shit.
I doubt either of these things will actually happen, but you're right that it is the only interesting thing about the Premier League this season.
Sam will be out of a job before WBA go down so his record of not being relegated from the EPL will stay intact.
Sheff U will manage to get enough points by mid-march I reckon. I would've been more confident if they hadn't beaten Newcastle and hadn't had a couple of easier cup ties to get their motivation up a bit.
