  • I have 5 internal doors arriving tomorrow that need hanging. Every one needs some trimming.

I reckon I can do this myself. What are the pitfalls? How will I fuck it up?

  • Hanging doors is a process.

Every chippy has a slightly different process that works for them.

I seem to remember you did the liners a while back. If they are new doors in new liners then it shouldn't be too bad, no offence, but I'm assuming you've put the door liners in plumb and straight. If the door liners are wobbly or not plumb it gets harder. To give you an idea I can do ~ 5 new doors a day if they're new doors in new liners/frames this drops to 1 - 3 (3 at a big push if its plain sailing) doors a day this is not just because it's trickier but there is always more to do (for example removing door stops and getting them in a state that they can be repainted).

I hope you have a plunge saw, because they pay for themselves when hanging doors.

If you want to go ahead and do it yourself I can walk you through my process.

  • Yes please.

New liners are in. PLUMB AS FUCK. And they are rebated so no pishing about with door stops.
