  • Always integrated. Anything else is ugly.

  • eg MSF

    Médecins Sans Frontières?

Seriously though my nice integrated microwave/oven combo and my oven are on top of each other. The clocks always end up slightly out, it drives me nuts, so I want remotely set next time for sure.

  • Too cold for stalking to be any fun at the moment :)

  • This was a revelation. Going back is impossible.

This post is useless without a recommendation for said non-spinny plate microwave.

  • I didn't know such things existed. This is a revelation and like Dammit I must know more.

  • Just get an 1800w catering one and reheat anything in under a minute.

  • I’ll tell you what’s big.
Having a light inside the dishwasher.

  • If you don't have two ovens then one that also acts as an oven is very useful. I went with the traditional method of just buying whatever is highest rated by Which https://www.johnlewis.com/panasonic-nn-ct55jwbpq-27l-slimline-combination-microwave-oven-white/p3519273 (although it was cheaper when I bought it).

I've also put it in a pantry cupboard because microwaves are massive and ugly. Hasn't set on fire yet.

  • Nice, you just need to lower it next (and add some salt).

Our Bosch doesn't have an interior light but it does project a little red light onto the floor when it's running. Happy with it but it started off very quiet as promised and quite quickly got pretty noisy.

    What model is yours please?

  • integrated or gtfo

ours (IKEA, because ofc) doubles up as a grill

  • We have this one.

Integrated, no spinning plate. doubles up as both an oven and grill (I use the grill on this over our oven one).

  • The clocks always end up slightly out, it drives me nuts, so I want remotely set next time for sure.

All these devices have a computer in them. It would be easy for manufacturer A to have a time synchronization cable that runs between them and keeps the clocks together. They could even go non-standard so it doesn't work with manufacturer B and keeps you locked in to their products if/when one fails and needs replacing.

It could have a catchy name. KitchenSync™.

  • I'm investigating RAL coloured silicone now 🙄

In my experience if these guys don't stock it then it doesn't exist. Can't imagine they provide scintillating dinner party conversation though.

  • KitchenSync™

this is what most of the meetings in my calendar are called

  • That's the built in one that projects time remaining and cycle etc. onto the floor so you don't miss the timer from a non built in one.

  • Bosch SMV68TD06GB

Got a graded one for £700 instead of £1100. Had a tiny dent in the top that goes under the cabinet and was missing a screw pack. Bosch sent me one out for free.

  • Yeah.

  • It's pretty cool.

I wonder what my 18 year old self would have made of me ever describing a dishwasher as cool?

  • KitchenSync™

    Haha

  • The Internet of Pings.

  • Yeah it's called TimeLight™.

You can get cheaper Bosch dishwashers with it but no internal lights.

Thanks @Señor_Bear I didn't even know graded was a thing, will look into it.

I like nice appliances and I cannot lie.

  • In October my cooker was condemned by an engineer as my wife and I are planning significant building work we decided to buy the range that will end up in our new kitchen. We ordered it on the 22nd of October and were told that delivery would be delayed due to covid. This has been pushed back FOR THE SECOND FUCKING TIME and I'm starting to lose patience but struggling to see what I can do. Apparently, suprise suprise, Brexit has compounded manufacturing issues.

First world problems I know but it's really starting to piss me off.

On the other hand I have plug in electric stoves that I will be freecycling to anyone planning a kitchen renno or who finds themselves in a similar situation to me.

  • What range is it?

  • integrated or gtfo

ours (IKEA, because ofc) doubles up as a grill

    What mad dishwasher is this?
