• I see.

I’m afraid I have nothing for you then.
If it was me I’d look at having them laser cut out of stainless sheet and then just tap the hole. Would be way cheaper than machining brass stock.

  • I'm fully aware that most people on this forum consider me to be a lunatic, but I'd not be happy with a stainless/brass adjuster. I've sourced a couple of nuts (from a chap on The Paceline) and I'm having a bag of 20 made up against future requirements.

@Hobo I have PM'd you, I'm sure we can sort something out (after all this buggering about with nuts I think I'll keep the CSi frame).

  • Sold

  • Not sold! Sadly my buyer has had to drop out.

I'm primarily motivated to sell the cross bike, so in order to de-clutter the sale I'm removing the CSi and will offer only the Fierte, for £1,350.

  • Someone really should have taken these as a pair!

If you do decide to move the CSi on, please let me know

  • Will do. TBH getting involved in sourcing the cable adjusters made me want to build it up.

If I then don’t actually ride it I’ll put it back up, with Zipps, 12 speed, blah blah.

  • build it up

Absolutely do it. If I'd got your CSi, I was thinking DA7800 would be a nice combo.

After chatting about your bikes, its inspired me to just go ahead and built up something nice made from steel this year. So I'm now on the hunt for something pretty

  • This is a build thread I’d like to see.

I was unfortunately outvoted on the necessity of buying the CSI back along with the cross bike. Will see if that’s changed by the next time you put it back up for sale

  • It’s bidding it’s time now.

  • No way you’ll be able to resist a repaint. I always toyed with it but decided on keeping it original.

Realise this is a bit off topic on your sale thread but at least it’s bouncing at the top

  • I have already purchased a stem for the yellow one. It is faintly ridiculous that I have one red, one yellow and one black/green fade Serotta CSi.

  • Got any pics of the black/green fade?

What stem did you get for the yellow? I picked up one of these recently but yet to receive it/get suitable handlebars

  • Black-green: yes, somewhere, I bought it in Colorado, built it in my hotel room (work trip, very bored) and then left it there as I used to go out every quarter - so of course, that was the last time I was there when it is possible to ride.

I bought a Syncros quill stem, same as I have on my Criterium:

  • You left the black-green CSi in Colorado, as in its still there? Where did you leave it!?

  • It's in the server room of our office, and maybe three years ago?

  • I've got chunks of naval brass if you need any. It has a smaller amount of lead in it (0.5 instead of 2.5%, roughly), and more copper.
You can use normal brass though, it'll patinate slightly quicker and it isnt quite as tough, but there isn't much in it.

  • My brain continues to be fried.

But I can see your thinking. Next time you've got a dull work trip to Colorado, at least you can go for a spin on a lovely bike...

  • Well, it was that and I was BORED, on my own, in a hotel with a week stretching out in front of me, and it was a fantastic deal on the frame. It's got a really nice wheel set as well, and a fun Ultegra group that has two weekends of riding on it.

  • Understandable. I've bought frames while on holiday due to boredom/bargain price but never managed to build a complete bike

That's very kind - thanks Sam.

  • So... are you keeping it??

  • Yeah, I think I’m keeping both. No one wants the Fierte and if I’m keeping that I’ll keep the matching CSi

  • Lovely combination

  • I just cant convince my self I need or would even use the cross bike.

I think keeping them is the right choice. You're unlikely to find something like this again. So if you're not desperate for the money or space then keep em for a while longer at least.
I think the thread would have a different outcome in the summer months.
