Nice! Are you selling? What size is this and how much are you after?
-
• #8530
woah, yeah. I mean not too surprising but still, the same vendor's clinchers only went for £50 more https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AX-Lightness-Laufrader-Clincher-Disc-35-mm-Felgenhohe/114623518216

A more sensible spoke count and popular freehub body too! Ebay is strange

Anyone know of a steel, lugged, straight blade, canti fork, circa 400mm a2c, CX clearances?
-
• #8533
One of my best mates is a canti fork

All City Nature Boy sounds like your best bet.
-
• #8535
Ye this did come up in my search, can they be bought new?
Edit: Looks like the canti version has been discontinued, so no.

i tried to get a disc one about a year ago and put down a eposit at a local shop, but the distributor then said it was disc(ha)ontinued
and i lost my deposit receipt as well

How outdated is an alu canti cyclcross?
I've seen one in a size that is a little on the small size but it's been up for sale for ages... so guessing bit overpriced, what is a sensible price?
This is the bike

It depends:
Canti:
you'll buy new rims more frequently
they squeal
"better modulation" = better racingdiscs:
you'll not buy wheels so often....
they squeal
they brake hardMostly though, you'll want to consider mud clearance (if you're racing).

I'm between getting something like a Mason Bokeh for longer type racing off road and maybe a bit of cx and riding with my daughter, which I can use current wheelset and gradually build.
Or get something more cx focused for maybe racing and the above.

For racing?
I've done alright with aluminium frame & cantis, regularly beaten by a steel frame with cantis. -

You can ride a CX bike on the road. No one will shop you.
-
• #8542
Prefer my CX bike on the road to my bosses gravel bike
-
• #8543
You're going to cause a schism in the bike world if you carry on this way.
-
• #8544
So any views on the above bike?
-
• #8545
It's overpriced for an outdated bike I reckon. But looks in good condition.
I probably wouldn't want to pay more than 500 for it, but I guess it depends how much stuff you'll want to chop and change.

I like bmc, never ridden that cross bike and it does seem a bit expensive. But I'd ride it! I like the lack of colour as well, you can add your own touch.

It looks nice. I don't think you'd want to keep much on there if you're thinking of buying a Bokeh. It looks barely used, you could probably rad the fuck out of it until it breaks.
£750 seems pricy.

Ok lets see how we go
-
• #8549
it's pretty rad. much more than a bokeh! which is more of first gravel for sensible dads
