• If you're not bothered about aesthetics, what about fixing some kind of hinge/bracket to the exterior? Fiber tape?

  • Yes! This was my first thought when I realised how involved taking it apart was.
    I'd thought I could fix something onto the body that physically stops the screen opening past a certain point.
    But not quite sure on the best way to achieve this. Some double sided sticky tape and some sort of rigid piece to limit the movement maybe?!
    Have googled a bit in the hope to find someone else doing the same but haven't found anything yet.

    Dont care about its appearance, this macbook never leaves home. If I could bodge it and get even another couple years out it I'd be happy.

    Edit - just realised that if I used some fibre tape and attached it in a certain way, that alone could maybe solve it. Will give it a test run with some parcel tape just now
