I noticed he used the 'I'm angry with the players' method after a couple of poor performances. Problem with that approach is if they carry on underperforming it makes you look weak and gives you very little wriggle room. Even though he quickly changed tact to publicly backing his players he had already shown his inexperience.

The "lack of tactical instruction and not being spoken to for months" bit sounds about right. The success he had with us was by having some very talented (by Championship standards) loan players on board. When they were out injured the team form dipped and Lampard didn't really have a clue how to turn it around.
It was said he would be frustrated in training that players couldn't do what he wanted them to with the ball and that he would regularly play in the training games and perform better than most of the squad.
He's definitely not blessed as a motivator, so it was inevitable that he would struggle to get the performances back after some bad results.
Not sure how much of a motivator Tuchel is. His PSG team was several classes above most Ligue 1 teams, so not hard to get results again when form dipped. I reckon Rafa in place by the end of the season... ;)

That the Hoddle/Zola training method isn't it?
Maybe Frank should phone up JT for some advice about learning your trade properly before diving in.

I think Lampard was the sort of player that trained hard to get to the top and likes players that will put in the extra training, whereas Hoddle just gets upset that his defenders can't chip a keeper with a rabona from 40 yards out.
JT is a funny one. I wouldn't want him anywhere near Derby (rumours are he was close to becoming manager after Cocu left) due to his previous indiscretions, but he seems to be made of teflon and everyone just forgets he's a racist cunt with a criminal family and a real nasty piece of shit. Weird...
Rooney is the opposite of what I thought he'd be as a manager (so far). He seems to have improved team spirit despite the club falling behind on paying the players - long story. And he also understands the individual needs of young players coming through rather than having to rely on more skilful players. Interesting to see how he acts now we're able to sign some players before the transfer window closes. Rumours of Niasse, Ince and Phil Jones. Should all be improvements on what we currently have, although not the most inspiring of targets.

Phil Jones..oh jeez.
I think Rooney should be reappraised, as should all players post retirement. In the media - what a cock. On the pitch - what a shouty inspiring cock.
He seems pretty clued up. Whereas what I read about Lampard supports the torylite picture of him I have in my head.
"I got here by hard work" (and private school, a well connected network, and being a white dude).I'm sure he's clever and capable and I think a knock back like this will help him. Because he works hard and because he believes in himself.
He won't coach spurs to a league title though. -

Not while Harry Kane is still there... 😆

Frank is definitely the poster boy for many in the media.I thought Harry Redknap was going to burst another blood vessel this morning. A lot of the media cant seem to believe he hasn't been given a fair crack of the whip when very few managers ever get enough time. For me, I wish he had a bit more time to see what he was made of. However, playing Werner, one of the best strikers in the world, out of position just made him look ludicrous.

Yeah - interesting about Rooney. I'm surprised, but he did always want to go into management and is doing his badges etc, so might actually have more about him than appears.
JT - yeah, comes with baggage, but seems to have grown up a bit. No idea if still a racist, but does lots of work for chariddeee etc. But on the football only side, he seemed to realise that it would be better to learn the trade than swoop straight in to a full job. and that should mean he's better long term.

Hopefully Frank’s exit will mean Chelsea stop sniffing around Declan Rice.
I am relieved to say that is £80,000,000 that we won’t be wasting.

Mount will probably get left out of the squad by Tuchel.
Probably head to West Ham in the summer.

On the grounds that you’ve wasted enough for one year?

• #155415
I read something about pro cyclists retiring and doing DS jobs below WT that seems to mirror the worldy level footballer going into coaching that genuinely can’t understand why people can’t do what he wants them to.

Of course. Fucking clowns.
Guidance has been added around the offside rule – which would have rendered Manchester City's controversial goal against Aston Villa offside in a move which has been described as a 'face-saving exercise'.
Urgent talks were held after outrage followed Bernardo Silva's opener at Villa Park, which saw City midfielder Rodri come from an offside position to steal the ball from Tyrone Mings and set up the Portugal man to break the deadlock in an eventual 2-0 win for the home side.

I almost feel that losing Jody Morris leaving is worse than Lampard leaving.

The real victim of the Lampard sacking is Squires, but he did a great job dealing with it:

McManaman really has shot to the top of the worst pundit list this season. Absolutely banal observations delivered in a dreary way.

Ball goes in.
VAR reviews and gives the goal.

Sure - your players all stopped too. The rules are raise the flag after play stops and it hadn't.
We're still shit though.

Pretty sure that’s the case.
