Yeah - interesting about Rooney. I'm surprised, but he did always want to go into management and is doing his badges etc, so might actually have more about him than appears.
JT - yeah, comes with baggage, but seems to have grown up a bit. No idea if still a racist, but does lots of work for chariddeee etc. But on the football only side, he seemed to realise that it would be better to learn the trade than swoop straight in to a full job. and that should mean he's better long term.
I think Lampard was the sort of player that trained hard to get to the top and likes players that will put in the extra training, whereas Hoddle just gets upset that his defenders can't chip a keeper with a rabona from 40 yards out.
JT is a funny one. I wouldn't want him anywhere near Derby (rumours are he was close to becoming manager after Cocu left) due to his previous indiscretions, but he seems to be made of teflon and everyone just forgets he's a racist cunt with a criminal family and a real nasty piece of shit. Weird...
Rooney is the opposite of what I thought he'd be as a manager (so far). He seems to have improved team spirit despite the club falling behind on paying the players - long story. And he also understands the individual needs of young players coming through rather than having to rely on more skilful players. Interesting to see how he acts now we're able to sign some players before the transfer window closes. Rumours of Niasse, Ince and Phil Jones. Should all be improvements on what we currently have, although not the most inspiring of targets.
