If a new(ly serviced) 50m watch leaked by going in the bath or swimming I'd send it back straight away as not fit for purpose.
FWIW I took my 30m £15 Casio scuba diving down to 30+m and it was fine. I'm not suggesting that it would be sensible to do that with a Speedy but if something is sold as WR then it should be. Almost all watches are mass produced items that should work as advertised.
