Saw a rider in Ducati FKW, on a ducati e-MTB(not the one above), while running around Richmond park yesterday.

I rode an e-MTB ~45km around the Swiss Alps a couple of days ago, it was a lot of fun. Felt (bear with me) like I was riding an old sit up and beg bike on the flat, made me feel somewhat like a traditional C of E vicar riding around the village green on a pull-rod braked Raleigh.
Are there any electric Dutch Bikes?

Are there any electric Dutch Bikes?
I believe the Dutch are heavily into electric bikes.

I’m not a fan of the Vanmoof aesthetic tbh, they’re bikes for people who like the Mercedes A Class.

Van Moof are shite. Look at Gazelle.

or a riese and muller

The only electric bike I would consider would be one that could effortlessly get up seriously long and steep hills.
-
• #237
thats every electric bike, I can scroll on instagram going up a 7% hill on cargo bike with e-assist

Let's talk about range - what are you packing in Ah and wattage and what's your range?
I'm still trying to get an accurate idea of mine, but with changing loads on the cargo bike its difficult

Buddy of a buddy is a really big boy, about 350lbs, and is looking for an ebike in order to continue his weight loss (was well over 400 a year ago) he’s tall too, about 6’4”.
He has $5000 to spend (about 2900 sterling) and, me having worked on his and his family’s bikes in the past, needs something low maintenance : )
We’re stuck in the middle of NA and so will likely have to go with a major brand. Alfine/Gates/Bosch seems to be recommended here, what does the assemblage say? -

Pedego Conveyor ticks some of those boxes but the price...

Stupidly asked in the mtb thread instead of here...
Has anyone recently bought a Bafang mid kit?
I want to buy one for the Giant Reign full sus (it should just clear the rear).
Ideally I want a throttle of sorts, I see a lot have a thumb thing instead of the old twist and go. I want to make a trials/technical trail plaything, so I can practice balance and trail riding while it’s not possible to green lane on the motorbike.
So really, yes I could pedal, but I want to simulate a lot of the motorcycle stuff without paying out for a Montesa.

this electric ? A+ would bang

I have bafang on my cargo bike; been good so far
-
• #246
More research I do, less likely it is to fit well on the full sus. The Reign has a stupidly low-hanging bb as it is. Might go for a rear hub kit, since I want all the drive in the rear like a dirt bike anyway...

Which e-cargo do you own?
From about 5 years ago I think, not sure how many ever made it into the wild.
Done a few "add e" kits now, low powered direct drive the rear wheel kind of a thing. Very neat to install and simple to use. Designed for folk just popping to the shop. When tuned off (or not actively assisting) the motor flicks off the rear wheel so zero drag of any kind, quite neat
