  • I had a physio here. Lovely woman. Irish, high level field hockey player, ex-pro.

She spent summers over the past 20 years volunteering at a summer camp in upstate New York. Originally that camp was for kids who lost their parents on 9/11. When those kids got too old for camp, it became a camp for the survivors and siblings of Sandy Hook.

She told a bit about it, but I have rarely seen anger in a human like I did when she talked about the deniers.

I try to find good in people, but fuck that guy into the sun.

  • Oh absolutely. Him saying "it's all just an act" the last time he got dragged through a court on account of his sandy hook fuckery just shows what a pitiful, dishonest coward he really is.

We need to cancel Joe Rogan while we're at it.

  • All good points!

I think attribution of cause and effect (even identifying effect) is going to come down to speculation, more often than not.

  • Great photo. Someone somewhere has surely already photoshopped his mittens into it...

  • I know one of the parents of the Sandy Hook massacre.
    Jones can get completely fucked.

  • Yes to be clear with you all, I find it nauseating as well... but made all the more nauseating by how convincing he sounds.

  • The only Tucker Carlson clip you should ever watch is this one

  • Why does it feel more and more like the saving of American democracy is following the endings of one of those movies from the 80s or 90s where the world is saved from nuclear annihilation by the actions of a few good men who refuse to launch the nukes, despite orders from their superiors to do so.
What would have happened if those attorneys hadn't agreed to resign if trump had ousted their boss? And what is going to happen to this man who was agitating to stop the certification of the vote in that state?
Fuck me it becomes more of a soap opera with every article you read..

  • The full story of the Capitol invasion is going to be absolutely nuts too

  • I'm with you on this.

If you believe in the multiverse theory, where every choice or option, theres the split to an alternative 'verse, there's is a universe where trump did win and most would be through neferious ways. Fucking scary thought

  • Have no ideas what different until I click on the main comment .

  • Can you C&P this for us? It’s behind a paywall.

  • Open in Incognito tab works for me

  • As long as swayze features like in red dawn I'm in.

  • So if this is accurate https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2021/jan/23/trump-florida-white-house-washington-plot-report then Trump can add “not being able to stage a coup” * to his historic number of losses. Clearly when he stated that he was going to win so often that people would get sick of all the winning he meant the exact opposite.

Which is a handy lens through which to view all his other boasts

[* Any half arsed tinpot dictator can sort out a coup. But Trump cannot even live up to that modest metric]

  • Biden another fortunate son. Asthma sucks.

Interesting article on the guy behind Q. Prison time would be nice, people died thanks to him not trying anything to moderate it.

Re conciliation: As an EU national I know full well not all brexit voters are racists, when it comes to even acknowledgement of the pain caused by the relentless narrative of the main leave team papers and PM, most don't get it nor try. Plenty of ppl online still parroting same bs.

Of course 20 years of right wing press isn't something that people unthink fast even if it now dawns on some perhaps this isn't the full story.

I've my doubt the Murdoch press is going to give 2 shits once the problems start July when the EUSS grace period ends. The 43% Tory voters indifference ( being gracious some are really xenophobic, most just parrot papers, don't care) is going to cause real hurt.

In the USA it is literally life or death for black people so that task is huge for him. The damage for "the others" Trump attacked is severe. His voters will deny it / deflect. Like here with Brexit and xenophobia.

It's not even hurt and worries and knowing people get deported / driven into poverty and homelessness, it's literal violence and murder.

Hopefully he can take measures that will get real results and people can heal and want to approach each other again.

Perhaps the American dream helps here, as a mainland European I approach words more as "cool story bro" perhaps compared to the average American. Is there a difference there?

  • Reflecting on today’s news that Trump is whispering the idea that he could start a new political party. I think this could be a good thing. I mean he’d do it as a revenge bomb against more moderate republicans and it would be terrifying if it gained real momentum. But it would probably lead to a broader political landscape than the polarised one we see now and could spark dem splinters too. Imagine if the whole thing was ideologically more open and splintered. That could be good couldn’t it?

    Prove me naive...

  • The Republican still claim Ross Perot cost the 1st Bush the '92 election.

  • And Nader probably also cost the dems an election too...

  • And Jo Jorgensen cost Trump this election. Cheers Jo.

  • I think Trump / Trump Party would be way more weighty than a Perot? Significant shifts in the political landscape could happen in theory.

Like more than just a one election fly in the ointment I mean.
