this is basically how the ibis hakka mx fender bride thing works. maybe one of them would work if you could get ahold of one?

Ah cool. I might look into that in the future if this bodge ever plays up.

P.s, If anyone's interested, a section of wald basket support also works as a fender flute at the front. (I just needed a cut out 2 hole sections).
