my question for this kind of behaviour is whats the ROI in taking things out of packaging and putting them in containers? Why not treat the packaging as container itself? In some cases I understand things go bad or lose flavour but dried beans?!

Yep.
I have a 12kg sack in the cellar.

Most definitely!

I have no kitchen at the moment, no microwave either, etc... so yeah... my diet consists of "what meal can this kettle produce?" and "what food can I get using this phone in my hand?".
I'll return to eating middle class meals once the 40k* kitchen is done.
* It's not 40k.

When I can, I replace them with either a huge sack (rice / pasta) or from the packaging free shop. Take the container straight to the shop.
Also, order. Bring the order.

Who want to bet that "it's not 40k" is because it is more than that...?

That said... don't under-estimate how good Noodl Plus are:

(could only find their brand agency website... but orderable via Ocado for full middle class street cred)

For those trying to reconcile the problem of elegant storage solution with best-before dates, Joseph Joseph also have the solution:

Regardless of what the price eventually ends up being it will always be the 40k kitchen.
I'm inclined to help others who may be doing renovations by sharing the full cost breakdown. But if all that achieves is piss taking then I may avoid. I earn a load, but I am not wealthy as I have few assets other than a house which comes with a big fat mortgage weighing it down. Whilst there's a lot of people who earn less on here, there's also a lot of people who are worth many multiples of what I am on here.

Here's my dry ingredient storage.

You need to learn batchelor ways.. Eggs can be boiled in the kettle.. Bacon can be fried on an electric iron or trouser press..

Possession of a trouser press instantly gains golf club membership.

Does anyone actually own one in their own home?

• #1348
pple getting mixed up between golf glub chat (shorthand for clumsy bragging about swaggy and tasteless lifestyle) and person enjoying inexpensive middle class pursuit of making their own dinner.
I mean, it was obviously not just a case of Andy ribbing Matt a bit. :)

Does anyone really have a stock of pine nuts?
CSB / Pine nuts foraging has always been a thing in my family. The ones you buy are shit (at least in the UK and DK) / CSB
3 packets of pine nuts
