Thank you for the interest everyone, really wasn't expecting this response, so please bear with me,
As a brief background, I worked on product design at Rapha for 10+ years, ending up as Lead Innovation Design. A lot of this was essentially simplifying kit, making it work in a wider range of temperatures or environments, eliminating distractions - which was sometimes at odds with the commercial ambitions of a product(!). I'll explain a bit more of the Burner origin and development later....
These are now going to be Albion branded(!), made from similar recycled nylon and recycled polyester insulation to the production versions, but will differ with the quilting design and a few construction details.
These are being made on an industrial machine, using a fine (size 10) needle suitable for light fabric, with light (120) polyester thread. They'll be finished to a high-standard for a home-worker, but alas, not a pristine Arcteryx level of finish. Any comments/complaints please send to me, and not Albion customer service :)
Options are;
1) size
Medium; 29cm x 38cm - one sheet of A3, but 4cm shorter
Large; 32cm x 42cm - one sheet of A3, but 3cm wider. I still have to make a sample of this size.
2) Colour
Grey - a neutral mid/dark rich grey
Black - relatively solid saturated
Olive - really nice rich, dark shade (pic looks lighter than IRL)
Cost is £15 all-in, plus UK postage. However! I'd like to do something good with this opportunity, and ask for a voluntary £5 donation. This will be split between LFGSS donation and OutRunners, a Hackney youth career inspiration group I've worked with over the years, and whose great work has been impacted by current restrictions. This is only a suggestion, don't feel you have to, I'm just taking this opportunity b/c I wasn't able to run workshops last year - and feel free to give more if generous, anything over the £15 goes to a good cause.
If you would like to order, please add your order (ie 'Large, Olive') to the list below. Once confirmed and product is made, I'll DM Paypal and delivery details. If you can include your forum name in transfer details to make my life easier!
I'm afraid I will have to draw a line for quantities at some point, I only have so much fabric/insulation atm, and I estimate to get these made in 10-14 days and most likely completed in colour batches. I am going to draw up a list below, using the names from the Rapha thread; if you are on here already, do not stress, you're registered!
If you have any loony requests, want to mail a patch for me to sew on, whatever, fire away. I can't promise, but I do like to try....
