  • This invokes an odd mixed emotional reaction with not being able to enjoy the Schadenfreude and all...

  • It's clearly blue with white writing...

  • this is fantastic news because a bunch of people won't be losing their jobs?

  • This stupid fuck gets no sympathy from me. Cunt. Own it.

  • To be fair, that is exactly what he is doing. He's recorded an interview where he admits he made a massive mistake and regrets his decision.

Surely all our anger should be turned towards the fuckers who knowingly lied and led these people along.

  • +1 for this. Though it definitely feels like a big 'told ya so' when there's stories like this, I have to remind myself that I'm really angry at a) the people that allowed the referendum to happen in the first place, and b) the people that lied through their teeth to ensure we left.

A decision that will likely affect almost every aspect of the U.K.'s future, and everyone in the country was give one equal vote. Why was I allowed to decide? I don't know anything about anything to do with this. Isn't this why we elect politicians, so they can make complex and important decisions on the behalf of the population? Sigh.

As a comedian said around the time, you don't go for surgery and expect the doctor to ask your opinion about what he should be doing, that's his job.

  • And a good chance that more jobs will be created.

Seems like good news to me.

  • The bit that stands out is the co.uk company based in Berlin. That can’t continue after Brexit surely?

I ordered some lamps from any-lamp.co.uk on 2nd Jan thinking they were UK based (UK domain, UK phone number, etc) but they're actually being shipped from the Netherlands. First attempt was returned to sender within a day of being posted "Parcel redirected. (Return to sender) Missing or incorrect data."

Now they're telling me they're hoping to be able to start shipping in the next few days. We'll see.

If I have to pay any extra duty on it I'll refuse to do so and get a refund through the credit card if necessary.

Also ordered some trainers from Saucony (from Saucony.com) on Jan 8th and they were delivered a few days later by UPS with no problems, they were shipped from Amsterdam so some stuff is coming through with no problems and no extra fees.

Ironically that’s pretty much how mental health services currently work. Go in with all the signs and symptoms of severe depression, get diagnosed with severe depression, then get saddled with making loads of specific decisions about your treatment as if you were 1) a medical doctor, 2) aware of what all the options are, and 3) not f^#}ng depressed.

Guess it’s by design to decrease liability tho.

  • Small print innit

  • We learn every joe and Harry on the continent been doing Terence Conran probably for years.

  • Some years back I was DJing at a party that he was attending, I was quite excited, had a few old R&B buttshakers all lined up ready for his arrival... He'd just got back from the US, him and the missus had been under the knife for the first time, this would've been twenty years ago... Looks like he's had stacks more work done since then, I just don't get it, it's awful... And WAC, he was always the fucking narc in the band...

I know so many young people doing it now, what will they have in store in twenty/thirty years time?

  • you shut your mouth, it's dark green with bronze writing

  • the people that allowed the referendum to happen in the first place

ol' spam face is an easy target for this but really the whole tory party, as if we needed any more reasons to hate them, are at blame for legitimising and encouraging the UKIP-ification of politics so they could win an election while signing up the whole country to god knows how many years of greater hardship

  • Surely all our anger should be turned towards the fuckers who knowingly lied and led these people along.

Most of our anger, yes. But in this case Cameron et al abdicated making a decision and opened it up to us.

Of course we were all unqualified to make a the decision properly. Even so it was blindingly, painfully obvious to me that Johnson and Farage were liars and shouldn't be trusted.
I wasn't privy to any information that the rest of the country didn't have access; I'm of average inteligence; I don't follow the news much more than anyone else.

I'll be reserving some anger for, and don't donate all my sympathy to, the mugs that didn't have the responsibilty to make a fairly obvious, sensible decision.

Exactly. Information was out there, yet these people rejected all that in favour of Jacob Rees Mogg et al acting in our best interests?!

  • what's a polite length of time to leave it before we start asking to be let back in ?

  • what's a polite length of time to leave it before we start asking to be let back in ?

Do you think one, or two generations?

  • I ordered some things for my wife for Christmas, one item in the parcel arrived damaged. I contacted the vendor and they sent a replacement.

Today I received an email saying the item was undeliverable.

This was followed by another email

    "Hello Dancing James,

I deeply apologise to tell you that your parcel has been returned by the carrier.

It is not allowed, with the new Brexit regulations, to reship a free order to the UK anymore.

That is why you will get a full refund of your product, than you can replace an order. The invoice will be in this case consistent with the new law.

The situation is finally getting back to normal!

I remain at your disposal for any further information.

    Have a good day!"

But of course the new order would be subject to taxes and handling fees, on an item that only costs £5.

  • Intrigued by the Nissan story although fear (without evidence) is that state aid has made Nissan toe the line and stay in the country...I don't fancy a situation where global corporations get countries to compete against each other for lowest taxation/laxest regulations any more than they already do.

  • Maybe the UK could do something with other like-minded countries to establish minimum rules about fair competition, labour practices, other regulations. Like a workers’ union, but for countries.

  • 47 years to leave.
    47 weeks to seek re-admittance?
47 months before we're let back in?

  • other like-minded countries

How about our nearest neighbours in Europe to start with?

It'd need a snappy name if we hope to sell it on the side of a bus.
