  • This box definable isn’t big enough though and doesn’t really make the most of the cargo space. Annoying that you can’t open it fully even with a short stem on too

  • The issue there is pricing.

An AluLock box like the one shown on there is sub £200. You could order direct from Denmark but with Brexit, I imagine the delays will be mad.
A bespoke box like a Rhino or similar which makes the most of the space available will set you back £1500.

I have an Alulock box on my Douze and you can get a second set of clips to fit on the other side of the lid to remove it completely as opposed to have it hinged. They are 35€+VAT+Shipping.

Again, I would discourage you from using SBC Cycles to fit them (sorry @picco ) as they didn't install mine properly and I need to re-order another set from AluLock. About £50 all in down the drain.

What the fuck. Are they made of gold or something?

Also I only vaguely recall seeing this in the flesh but aren't there alu boxes like that which hinge up on a short side?

  • For boxes on bullitts best value /size is the convoy products box, hinge is approx 15cm forward of the vertical so opens all the way. £700 when you get it with a bike, more on its own as shipping isn't free.

If your handy, mate of mine had made several and they are all in daily heavy use. Get yourself some touring instrument box parts (the edges that rivet together), alloy sheet or thin resin board, and for lid and lock use horsebox storage cupboard components, you can make an all singing box any size you like for £100 and prob two evenings work
