Bang on 165 cranks like all the cool kids and it will be a non-issue

Mud was like treacle in the woods today, hard work. New tyres seemed worse in the mud than some 25 year old specialized tyres on my other MTB but maybe it was just that bit muddier...

What colour would the cool kids go for; blue, cream or silver?

More speed --> less strike no?
Depends if you are trying to get a couple of quick pedals in as you enter the turn.

At 2:50 you can see how low is low.

It would be different to the current steed. As a recent convert to MTB I want a better bike. The Inbred was bought to accompany my youngest on the trails and I wish I'd tried MTB earlier!

Filling up your bottle from a stream - 200% guaranteed to relieve even the most stubborn constipation.
Also it's too low for the ruts of The North.

That drift into the tree root is mad (before the slow-mo). Definitely rode it out... probably...

Did a spreadsheet (well a post-it note anyway) with all the different HT steel frames I've looked at and they're either unavailable or the post-Brexit shipping/VAT/customs are ridiculous. So I've gone with a marino, just placed the order. Geo a mix of different models I've looked at, went with Reynolds 520. I know there are mixed reviews and QC is maybe a bit random sometimes but hopefully it'll turn out alright, most people seem satisfied.

I love my EDC tool -- would like to have one fitted on all my bikes.

If I head over to Leith Hill area where would I (who doesn’t know the area) be able to pick up a few trails to start exploring?

Got out in the woods yesterday. Very muddy and I am very slow and old but had lots of fun. Also if you fall off in mud that deep it’s nice and squishy!

Summer lighting would be your best bet - it’s way marked and shown on Trailforks.

Which sadly I don’t have- no Garmin.
I have just parked at Leith Hill Place and will explore from here I guess.

If you head up to the tower then the SL trail is way marked on the left if you follow the walking path to the east. There are at least four distinct sections of it - it's massive - but it's fairly hard to link them all together as the transitions between them are not well marked.

Found it, done the whole loop, waiting in the coffee/cake queue back at the tower.
What else is good starting from here?

does anyone have 100/125mm dropper in 31.6 diameter with internal routing they want to get rid?

did the winter tyre switch up a week or two back, new wired kenda nevgals front and rear, also replaced a front inner tube with a burly DH tube, cause it was lying around and the old inner was a bit knackered
i've probably added 500g to the front wheel and the bike feels so much less nimble, the front end feels weighed down with an anchor, popping wheelies difficult, gonna remove the front tube and tyre and go back to a new folding nevgal and lighter inner tube to try and get that sweet front end feel back, keep the rears as is cause they feel nicely planted , beefy and grippy at backsimilar happened on a commuter when i added schwalbe marathon pluses made the bike feel so much less agile and cumbersome
I'm also considering a Stif.. Seems to be in a middle ground price wise between the Planet X options and a Stanton/Cotic/Pace (complete bike). Is the low BB on the Stif such an issue?
Edit to add.. Informed Stif would be a month for delivery
