This is what I was referring to...
https://www.thedailybeast.com/im-about-to-puke-qanon-in-chaos-as-biden-takes-office?ref=home
As the rest of the country waited for Joe Biden to be inaugurated, believers in the QAnon conspiracy theory thought they were about to see something else: the long-awaited mass arrests of Biden and a host of other “deep-state” Democrats, followed by the restoration of the Trump presidency.
“Trump will walk out during the arrest and thank America for reelection,” one QAnon supporter posted on a forum shortly before the inauguration. “This will be remembered as the greatest day since D-Day.”
As Biden was sworn in, though, the mass arrests that QAnon believers call “The Storm,” stubbornly refused to happen. Trump really did appear to have left office, rather than springing the sly trap as they had all hoped. . The Democrats really did have control of the White House and both chambers of Congress.
Some of the videos being posted of people bawling into the camera asking for Trump to save them is just sad. I feel bad for them because they have been so badly duped, the emotional investment on their part, the effort, the 100% faith, it will be be a huge psychological blow.
But, fuck 'em.

It’s absolutely batshit, isn’t it? I’m on my third packet of HobNobs already. Gonna be a long night.

Trumps political career was born, lived and die on social media. If he is kept off of Twitter, he's got no real influnce, he's a nobody without it.

Brilliant by BBC news. They chose some good old boys from Texas. Lots of guns, an angry dog and when they showed off their shootin’ skills they set their field on fire. Great tv.

Replayed that a couple of times :)

I don’t get why all the Q people are losing their shit. Can’t they just make up a new thing now he’s gone? Just spin a new one. Who’s writing all their stuff?
-

That was beautifully done. The close-up 'Yee-haw', the sprint down the yard to try to put it out, then only making it worse... like a parable.... Emmys for everyone....

class tv, the yee-haw with the fire just starting in the background, such redneck, very idiot, expect reports of a huge texas wildfire over the next few days
they should have raked their farm like trump suggested

Always.
Always surprises me how big a part religion plays in politics over there. I guess it’s the only way to win the Midwest and maybe even the south?
But clearly self enrichment/the economy is more important than jeebus otherwise Trump would never have gotten in in the first place.

Who’s writing all their stuff?
I assumed it was effectively crowd sourced from teh marketplace of ideas.
Trending ideas such as ‘Biden is a shell-figure and will hand over to Harris within two years’ get traction not because anyone actually has good information, but because it fucking triggers Trumpists hard and garners many page views.
It’s quite American really.

It's like Anti-Darwinism in action - only the stupidest memes survive to replicate because they appeal to the lowest common denominator.
-
• #15766
Surely even the trumpest of Trumpers must be able to hear that Biden speaks like a president?
Biden speaks in sentences that link to form a narrative, not multiply repeating the same soundbites.
I will also be happy to never hear again the falsehood 'Many people ...' followed by something few people could even begin to believe was credible.
My only concern is, if pardons were doled out at a going rate of $2M each, Trump can afford a lot of lawyers to fend off the Southern District of New York. -

Yes.
And state funded actors know this too. They don’t try all that hard to get messaging perfect - they can launch 30 iterations with the same time/resource and just measure and note which get traction.

https://www.reuters.com/article/BigStory12/idUSKBN29P2VO
For three years, adherents of the sprawling QAnon conspiracy theory awaited a so-called Great Awakening, scouring anonymous web postings from a shadowy “Q” figure and parsing statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump, whom they believed to be their champion.
On Wednesday, they grappled with a harsh reality check: Trump had left office with no mass arrests or other victories against the supposed cabal of Satan-worshipping pedophile cannibal elites, especially Democrats, he was ostensibly fighting.
These people need to be carefully de-programmed. Lots of disappointed and disenfranchised fanatics make easy pickings for other extremist groups to brainwash.

Alternatively, you tell them that Covid19 is a hoax, that face masks are socialist, and that licking eyeballs is the American way and let old-fashioned Dawinism take it's course.

Re title change back: phew
Totally get it. Just don't know why the name was changed the day he leaves office. Just leave it. Maybe I'm just being prickly because this guy has actually impacted my every day life 😂
