The dog thread insurance chat reminded me of something to post here.
Fabric only saw one vet during his 12 year life so I was able to ask the vet for a breakdown of how much we paid in vets bills. Just over £5,000!
Fabric was mostly uninsurable because of his genetic heart defect. Most of the costs were down to heart diagnostics (although we didn't go too far down that route), arthritis treatments and dental work.
Thought I'd share the number here just in case it helps people make insurance decisions or helps somebody budget for getting a cat.
