  • Park Tools: 2.15mm

    Pedros: 2.05mm

Measured with my uncalibrated/uncertified dial calipers

  • It’s so you can blouse your trousers and not get them wet if you are storming the Capitol building etc.
Thought this was common knowledge bring back National Service I say

  • yes but where do the surplus laces go??? tucked into boots?

  • appreciate it, thanks. my uncertified calipers say my tool is 3. something mill so there's a bit in it.

  • Trying to adjust the cones on a rear hub and the free hub gets in the way

Why are you in that area? On a conventional 2-bearing rear hub, you leave the drive side cone well alone and adjust the bearing clearance by fiddling with the NDS cone and locknut.

  • Got a nice frame yesterday, its not got any tubing decals but has internal rifling, going to double check today but I believe they run along the tubing rather than spiralled. Any ideas what it is?

Drop outs are Reynolds but I don't think its 708. Builder would use whatever was good/suited apparently.

    Columbus SLX?

  • Cuz I'm dumb. I should have adjusted it by taking it to someone who knows what they're doing.

    (the nds didn't have a visible cone/locknut.)

  • nds didn't have a visible cone/locknut

It's often hiding under a rubber cover on Shimano MTB/touring hubs

  • If I buy a Nitto canti-mounted rack, designed for 26" wheels but use it on a frame with 700c wheels, will I die?

  • They’re usually pretty generous with their clearances so it should be okay, do you have exact measurements?

  • I have a 20mm ID rim and a frame with buckets of clearance, is there a limit to how wide I should go with a tubeless tyre? Thinking back to my old school 26" mtb I remember running 2.3" tyres with inner tubes on really narrow rims... just not sure if the same applies with tubeless

  • Thanks.

I think thats the best match after measuring the tubes and factoring paint. Don't think theres anything else with that type of rifling

  • There was a few posts on here about packaging and the little stories the marketing teams add to various areas of the design. I think there was a specific term for it and maybe a drinks or body wash company involved? Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

  • We have an electric baseboard heater with a rheostat in one of our rooms, not a thermostat. Does it use more power when turned up higher?

I have almost zero knowledge of electrical workings. Embarrassed.

  • Will Race King 27.5x2.2 fit under GB 50 mm mudguards?

  • I'd say you could fit those fenders under the race kings.

  • Is all Campag 11 speed stuff interoperable, or is 2013 Record 11 not going to work with 2015 Chorus 11 etc etc?

  • I can tell you from recent experience that Potenza shifters don't get along with an Athena rear mech and in looking in to that found lots of stuff about Campag compatibility so , expect the answer to be no but have a look around.

  • Hah, thanks Will. I had a suspicion that that would be the answer.

  • Potentially dumb question alert: can you still go into a bank and get change, or must you have an account at that bank to do it? Need a load of pound coins and 20p coins for the laundrette and for cheaper parking but I haven’t actually handled any cash for a year and the last time I went into a bank to get change must have been over a decade ago!

  • Bank might be weird about it, but the Post Office will give you whatever denominations you want when you withdraw cash over the counter.

  • for cheaper parking

Where are you that still uses cash for parking? There's an app for that 🙂

  • There are 7,354 different apps for that - depending on which parish you're unfortunate enough to want to park in. All with uniquely terrible user interfaces and surprise additional fees.
