  • One thing i wanna try in the future is to machine something to braze on the the headtube that matches the dia of the CK headset closer. I like the way they look, but it would be nice if there was a better transition from head tube to headset. Can sort of see it in these two photos

  • This is awesome. I met @Grifffff recently and we chatted about this frame. Do you do your bike designs through bikecad?

  • Thanks! Yeah i use bike cad, its super handy. I used rattlecad for a bit, but it wasn't as polished really and i found it a bit awkward to use. Then again that was a few years ago so maybe its better now.

  • Good to hear youโ€™re happy with them. Bike looks great!

  • Do you have the pro version? If so is it worth the dollar?

  • Yeah its really good. I have the pro version and reckon its worth it for sure. there are many ways of doing it without, but bikecad is super handy. While it is a big one time purchase, you get it for life on that payment. So compared to many pieces of software it pretty cheap if you get a few years use out of it. Especially considering it is constantly updated with new stuff and the guy who runs it is very engaged with the community.

  • Looks great Max. My dad is in the market for a gravel bike, Iโ€™m trying to persuade him to commission one from you!

  • Stunning ๐Ÿ’˜

  • haha thanks, well just shout if hes keen, im always happy to build more bikes!

  • Looks great as always ๐Ÿ‘Œ

  • Got some photos of the road bike today, and met a very nice cat while i was there.

  • Proper good that

  • Excellent work, love it

  • Absolutely stellar. Also convinced me to do my frame in the some colour as my forks.

  • Thanks! yeah the fork colour really makes a difference. its a pain because i dont wanna get stuff wetpainted because its expensive, but powdercoat cant do carbon forks. So always have to get a bit lucky trying to match forks to powder

  • Great stuff.

  • Thanks!

Ive just put in an order for some tubes for the next build. Was planning another fixed road bike but have changed my mind. Im gonna build another disc road bike. Im really happy with the pink one i just built but its not quite perfect, i know i can make it look a bit better and its really bugging me.

soooo, i'm gonna build another one.

Di2 specific shooting for fairly clean look but not going overboard with the integration. Ive spent enough time wrenching on super integrated bikes to passionately hate it. Would love to go etap but its just too much money i cant justify it.

  • Well i haven't really made much progress. The tubes came and i had a few weeks with some free time in early feb, but otherwise have been busy with uni so havent been able to do much . I managed to mitre up the front end of this di2 road frame. Also spent a bit of time making an internal isp topper thing for the track frame. Got most of the way through then realised the enve guts would look way better so will probably just make a new one for that, if i can find some enve guts that is. The aim was to have it fit into the seat tube and have a conical plug to draw into the other end and expand it inside the tube.

  • Ive also been thinking about the internal routing on the upcoming frame. Would like to put the rear hose into the frame, but dont really like it when it comes round the headtube and enters into the down tube. So would like to avoid that. I experimented a bit with putting a hole into the head tube and welding a bit of stainless tube in, but theres not loads of room in the head tube

  • The only other option is getting the cable through the headset. I tried filing a notch into a cheap top cup to try and route a hose around the bearing, but there just wasn't really enough material. The last option is trying to find a fork that has a non round steerer, and routing the hose through the headset like that.
