  • Hi,

I finally started a project I have planned for quite a while. I bought the frame in 2017 with the intend to repaint it etc.
My main problem was finding a paintshop that wouldn't cost a million otherwise I would have to go with a standard powder coat. This December I, by shear luck, found out that a friend of mine has painted since '76.

It took me a while to find a colour I liked and that I think would suit the frame. He showed me a chameleon colour that changes from purple to blue which was not even close to what I expected, but after having done a few spray tests it actually ended up looking very nice! He's painting the base black and then spraying a very thin layer of the chameleon colour and finishing it off with a semi matt clear coat.

Here are are a few photos showing the frame with the stock paint.

  • Here are a few of the samples and the actual paint itself. It's really difficult to show the effect of the paint - especially the more subtle application on the samples.

  • Looks a lot like a Cyfac:

  • The image isn't showing up?

  • It shows on my desktop computer but it won't show on my phone either. Here's two more similar ones:

  • Wow. Very similar indeed. Probably just the aestethics at the time 😉
I'm looking forward to seeing how it will look in the new colour scheme.
