Looks fab. Maybe I'll go for a bit of cork in the living room.
But hang on. Is this £40 a sqm cork?

Crazy idea that will probably be a no go, but has anyone had experience of retrofitting a balcony ?
1st floor flat, could convert large kitchen sash window to a double door, and either get a decking area built above downstairs neighbours conservatory, or have a “floating” balcony...
These thoughts are what self isolating does to you...

Planning can be hard for outside space on upper levels as you suddenly oversee a lot of gardens.
We aren't overlooked at all right now and if someone wanted a balcony that would look into our garden I wouldn't be keen.

Have incorporated some of peoples idea, what about this as current and future use. We would put a sink in the craft room. so will make sure that all plumbing is in place for kitchen in the future.

Presumably someone from planning would pay a visit and make an assessment? I genuinely don’t think we’d see much more than we can now through the windows. Especially the kitchen window which is exceptionally wide.

Hahaha books lol
How do you find the big tall rad? Any good? Think I need some in my life for various boring space saving reasons
-

I think that's wishful thinking - people won't stand by a window looking out for hours, but a balcony in summer they might well do.

yeah good - we have three in this space because it has HIGH ceilings. think they’re from mr central heating

Has anyone run a feed in conduit to a pendant? I want to add one (or three) to this beam above our dining table. Running it through the ceiling is pretty much a no-go past the RSJ (pitch tiled roof above). I feel like black conduit won't look too bad when combined with a black light, but can't figure out how the junction of those two would work, as most pendants are designed for a feed from directly above.

Ours is currently in boxes but I'm a little worried about it being too much of a good thing, very heavily patterned and warm

Embrace the cables. Get a pendant with a nice braided cable and run it through hooks to your desired location.

Can you get LLL braided cable?

• #41964
I’d hope so. One one on each thread.

Hopefully live = live.

That's a pretty good shout. I assume this would involve buying a few m of aftermarket cable and rewiring the pendant.

In my borough it's pretty much just a blanket ban, they're not going to come out and assess it.

I think I have the same long ikea table. It’s great for the money.

Nice! Thoughts Sam?
Stealing just the kitchen worktop depth from the third square and introducing some storage space instead of larger WC/bathroom would get my vote. Work to the existing verticals and then make a feature of a vaulted roof (if possible)? In the short-term the kitchen worktop area could be office storage with the water already accessible behind?
Cooker and sink should switch (fire). Talk to East Devon about any M (wheelchair) requirements that they might now be applying. Unless you're non-notifiable?
Or could you put some sheep in there for an agricultural PD application? 😉

Now thats the East Devon way.
Our sheep shed was massively overbuilt to accommodate any potential future change of use.
It is also quite pretty.

These are the winners...
It's hard man. Carpenters don't wanna touch it because it's specialist and can be fucked up really easily. Plus your stairs can be an integral part of your buildings structure and joists/beams can all be tied to them. These guys knew their shit when I spoke to them.
