• It's pretty amazing. It's taken the govt four years to negotiate the destruction of that industry and only two weeks in those that advocated for it are already protesting it. I'm quite not sure what the fishermen are expecting - some better terms from the EU before they go out of business in six months? Or some form of state aid (I guess that's the only thing they can hope for). I rather suspect that the govt interest in fishing has been saturated for the next couple of years tbh.

    The fishing industry voted (90%?) for brexit, they even took to the high seas to heroically battle Bob Geldof for it. They're all adults, I've relatively little sympathy that they'll have to deal with the consequences the same way as the rest of us.
