Indoor or outdoor application? Indoors I've had decent results with 3M Command Strips.

Cheers, Command Strips was the one I was trying to remember.

@gbj_tester that's jogged my memory and looking at my emails it appears I have bought some 3M VHB tape in the past, now I need to find it. Anything I should be doing for surface prep beyond a clean and wipe over with an alcohol wipe?

"Cleaning" by wiping with a solvent just spreads any oil contamination into a nice even layer. Better to abrade the surfaces with clean dry sandpaper/wire wool/Scotch-Brite
