• My wife had the Pfizer jab yesterday at a clinic in Bermondsey - she’s NHS and classed as at risk because she has a suppressed immune system due to her medication for psoriatic arthritis. She’s 53. I’m 58, but I’m going to have to wait for at least 3 months even though I’m classed as an essential worker, so we’re both going to carry on as we have been for months and keeping ourselves as isolated as we can. Would be an arseache to go and catch Covid within sight of the finish line.

  • There was talk that they’d be offering the vaccine to household members of shielders at the same time. I don’t think there has been a decision about that yet. Plus your partner has been vaccinated ahead of other shielders, which won’t be until next month afaik.

  • As someone on psoriasis meds that's interesting. AIUI the heavyweight treatments for psoriasis/arthritis are immunosuppressive, but they seem to be protective against severe outcomes from Covid; the disease inflammatory response/cytokine storm is what's most dangerous, and is related to the mechanisms that the immunosuppressive drugs are targeting.
