I bought this on a whim in the summer because i liked the look of the burl wood handle and the short blade. It's very solid and nicely balanced, and the damascus steel is very pretty. It came with a pretty rubbish machined edge on it that just wasn't the right angle given the width on the blade. Anyway, three hours on the stones (600,800,3000,8000,10000) and it has the edge it deserves.
