Presumably if I was bringing it over in person on a ferry (as an assembled, rideable bike) I wouldn't get charged?
I’m not sure you would have to pay import charges anyway - it’s already your bike, there’s no transfer or money or asset. Check local rules for shipping personal effects.
Yeah, this is what I thought was the case, but it seems that even for a 'gift' that's value is over €700, you'll get hit with some charges
