Presumably if I was bringing it over in person on a ferry (as an assembled, rideable bike) I wouldn't get charged?
I’m not sure you would have to pay import charges anyway - it’s already your bike, there’s no transfer or money or asset. Check local rules for shipping personal effects.
I think legally you should declare that you are importing the bike and pay charges even if you ride it on and off the ferry.
I think you’d be ok. Technically you’ll be committing tax evasion, but we won’t tell anyone.
