A Brexiteer would, of course, ask, with some justification, why those CDs aren't made in Britain.

Now, don't get me wrong; as ever, I think 'Brexit' is a stupid nonsense, but we shouldn't overlook things like that in a very large market you will get things made extremely non-locally and then trucked all over the place, whether it's fruit and veg or things like this. Needless to say, all of this could be addressed in ways other than 'Brexit'ing, but I think it is true that the EU's economic neoliberalism (which is not as bad as Britain's), a product largely of the Thatcher-Kohl years, is not a good way of doing things like this, either.

I'm sure that in a world where we are competing with 27 other countries for haulage companies time and services that this will help hugely (along with the £300 KAP, lack of toilets etc etc):

Yay, we're marketising basic government services!

It's not as if the Home Office has been doing essentially the same thing for decades.

Decades ago it used to be expensive local food but affordable housing.

Now it's flipped around, and not sure how easy you can move the other way.

In some ways I like this policy. Truck parks aren't free. Shouldn't the users pay for it? If you are exporting via rail and need to park your train for a while you will need to pay more directly for the siding use.

Not sure I follow the logic. PPE procurement has shown the tory party’s capacity to enrich its cronies with or without Brexit. Not immediately clear to me who is getting rich off Brexit apart from some (likely) low paid admin jobs at the border. Maybe I am being naive.

I think one thing you need to factor into your calculations is whether you are enthusiastic about fighting other UK Citizens over who gets the last turnip.

Another question about shipping / customs charges.

I live in the netherlands. I bought a second hand bike last year, for £1200, from a UK seller. The bike has been at my parents house since then (approx six months). The plan was to go and get it in person but as the situation worsened that became less of an option.

Now the only real option is to get it it shipped to me, but I'm worried that I'll get charged import tax on it. Anyone any idea of what the deal is? Thanks in advance for any insights.

Yes, you will need to pay duty and/or tax. The NL -> UK rules are at https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty. You need to find the equivalent Dutch rules.

Perhaps start at https://www.government.nl/topics/export-import-and-customs/taxes-on-imported-goods but that rapidly leads to documents only available in Dutch.

So how come none of this was mentioned? Nobody said anything about extra costs on British exports or goods. Nobody said anything about Sky Sports not being available in the EU. Now I can't watch West Ham and if I order a bike I'm paying 44% more and all that wasn't on the ballot form.

However when Nick Timothy wrote the speech that Teresa May delivered at Lancaster House, two red lines were included, henceforth Brexit would mean the UK was leaving both the Single Market and the Customs Union.
Remainers had long pointed out that the Four Freedoms of the EU were indissoluble and if the UK insisted on ending Freedom of Movement it meant the EU would not be able to allow the UK to continue to enjoy the benefits of the Single Maket and the Customs Union.
