Pine would be soft and birch is a hardwood so probs easy to check.

Not sure I would've moved here if not for Rosie. (I mean introducing me to the area rather than stalkering.) Good luck for next things and moving in with parents!

Nah, not doing wood in the bathroom.

If the slab bridges the damp proof course in the walls - that'll do it.
Blocks could be beech no ? -
• #41756
Yeah I thought beech but then thought the grain is tighter than that. Could be though

Need to see the pink and the brass and depends on the terrazzo tones I guess.
Something with cloudy greys but not too cool. Or a grey with flecks of pink and brass tones.
Im a fan of Mosa but couldn't afford.
Would not go too dark
I used super industrial forbo vinyl with flecks of pink orange and clear.
Depends on your overall vibe but a plain satin colour might work - depends if you want texture/speckle/noise.

Mosa is tiles - spenny
Dezeen says that bathroom is terazzo (sheet I guess) https://www.dezeen.com/2018/03/03/archmongers-architecture-house-extension-london-plywood-stoke-newinton/ -

Yeah - something's not working for for me there too - the grey of the base terrazzo is maybe too light and cool (too much contrast with the green/blue chips). Feel like that would work with a more monochrome palette more - not vibing with the pink.
-
• #41763
That could look quite shiny too - those bigger chips and white base colour reflect light.
Diespecker used to send out samples of terrazzo -

Fair enough - thought with brass and pink might look nice

We’ve had good times here and a lot of Catford has changed
This is White Flight in response to Amey moving in isn’t it? Don’t be ashamed to say it, I’d flee too.

Do those click together or just butt up against each other like regular tiles? We found the ones that click together a pain to install.

Can’t tell if emotional because house has been gutted or leaving or what, but that actually hurts a bit :(

As far as I can go today.

Just but up together and you glue them down. It’s not an easy job.

If various greys are of interest check out forbo linoleum, they send out samples fairly quickly. Almost entirely renewable materials, carbon neutral manufacture, no off-gassing etc. Most patterns are marbled but there is some speckle and plain.

That's a clean job on the underfloor what's going on top?

we had forbo lineoleum/marmoleum in our last kitchen. loved that stuff - sound absorbing, warm, hid dirt, easy to clean. it's not cheap but it's gooooood. the only reason we didn't get it in our current place was they discontinued the colour we loved and couldn't find one to settle on... so we went with the cork.

I really want it in kitchen and bathroom. hard to pick colours though - why do they have so many marbled greys?! anyway, that's a long way off...

Yeah bit too rustic/muted for me, I like punch.
