Ridiculous skidder lockdown project taking shape. Some chainline issues to sort and a seatpost clamp to acquire but otherwise pretty much there. Sole intention of this was to put a smile on my face as some relief from the current grind of childcare / schooling / working round the clock and it’s definitely working! Better photos to follow once I’ve finished it...

Great fork painting! Is it custom?

ok thanks for the tips! passed on it in the end, I came to the realization that Im a bit heavy handed with bikes and I would probably destroy a carbon frame unintentionally but most likely.
And Propels sound like alot of faff!

Yeah the guys at Cole Coatings did the frame and fork - based on doodlings from one of my kids - lots of fun little details everywhere, even has our dog running up the hill on the forks!

Lovely!
I've had a few but not in this colourscheme!
From my experience, if the seatpost is 26.8mm, it's Columbus Aelle tubing.

I have had this cross gazelle for a while without much use. It's made up of surplus 7-speed bits, nothing fancy. Recently I added a set of Avid shorty cantilever brakes which significantly improved the fun factor for offroad and paths. The previous canties were rubbish. Now I'm considering widening the gear range with a SRAM or GRX 1x11 setup, does anyone have any experience or references of 1 x 11 with a bar end shifter?

Mate of mine has a 1x setup consisting of an XT RD combined with a microSHIFT bar end shifter, and it's great. You can do the same with a 1x GRX RD, just get the right bar end shifter model (road, not MTB).

Final piece of the puzzle: a 5mm grommet/reducer thing for chainstay internal rd routing. Was a fucker to find. Seller sent me two so I’ve got a spare if anyone wants one for free.
It’s a Rose team Xeon cgf in case anyone knows what that is or has any knowledge for me.Running flat bars at the moment and not in love. Full bike once I’ve got drops on it.

Having serviced my BB for the first time after 8,000km I discovered that it doesnt look too tidy...
Ive cleaned it and replaced the bearings, so that should be fine.
However, I noted that the surface of the axle had sanded down on the contact points with the bearings - do i need to worry/can I do anything against it?
Would it make sense to drill a drain hole into the BB shell to allow water to dry/drain our would a drain hole make it even worse?
Cheers

That sort of wear is relatively normal on the spindle IME, doesn't look like it's worn it down at all, so won't have introduced any play.
not worth trying ;)
