It wont be integrated, its just the fork has a crown race seat with a lip that's wider than the crown race.
They can be a total pita to remove. Try wedging (maybe hammering) something really fine in there. A fine screwdriver, maybe a stanley blade.
You'll need to start with things so slim that you'll not be able to use them as a lever. Work your way up to something thick enough to lever the race up or until you can get a crown race remover in there.
