They do an Imperial Sour in a similar looking can that's really good (and I'm not the biggest sour fan).
This thing

When was the last time you saw the Crackdor or Scott('s Drunk) Montana?

I'd give that a go based off the other two cans I've tried, I'll look out for it. I like a sour, not a huge wheat beer fan but I'll try it.

It's not crazy sour, just tart enough, for me at least. I saw their other can in stock but didn't try it yet.

Forget craft ale, it's all about craft disinfectant this year.

Bottles of Camden 2020 Imperial Pilsner (should that be Kaiser- u. Königlich Pilsner?) reduced to £3.50 in the supermarket, so I bought one to try. It's a bit weird - though it says it's aged in wine and brandy barrels, I'm getting a lot of young vanilla oak in there, a bit like the Innis and Gunn beers. Not much acidity, and then a bitter finish that's more like a Pilsner, alongside the (10%!) alcohol mouthfeel. Worth it for the experiment, but if I'd paid a tenner a bottle I'd have been less pleased.

Did this, added on £80 quids worth of other stuff to get free postage, then ended up paying for the lager postage anyway cos it’s a pre-order 😁

I've caned through all my stocks. There is nothing left.

ha I didn't realise they were doing this and logged onn to order some AF stuff ... there was a virtual queue of 136,000 or so!
-
• #9741
When i tried there was 40,000 or so - i just left the window open on my phone and forgot about it. Checked my phone later and I'd got in. They must have made an absolute killing with that promotion!

yeah i begrudgingly order their alcohol-free stuff (its good, priced reasonably, currently on offer) but the cynic in me thinks they are profiting way too much from some minor good deeds (barnard castle beer to fund hand sanitiser for the nhs etc, and this carbon neutral stuff).
and there were some stories that they essentially just stole recipes that were being developed at thornbridge (one of the founders worked there) to create their flagship punk IPA
and there's this guardian article makes them sound completely insufferable: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2016/mar/24/the-aggressive-outrageous-infuriating-and-ingenious-rise-of-brewdog

Long day but the Burnt Mill/Mikkeller Weight of Brunch Imperial Stout has really taken the edge off it. Probably not a Tuesday beer but whatever

Putty has just arrived.

My perseverance with IPAs continues.
Buxton King Slayer Double IPA, makes it onto the list of ones I like. -

What’s the deal with the hype around that beer? They make out it’s like a Glastonbury ticket with presale password access. If it’s so good why don’t they make it all the time? My best guess is that they bring it out every January to try to temp the dry January crew back to the booze
-
• #9748
Because they make loads of good beers? All breweries have core, seasonal and one-offs
-
• #9749
I get that, but the hype they put out, or try to, for that beer is weird and not like any of their other beers. I’m a huge fan of that brewery but presales and one per customer limits can do one. It’s a beer

Having never heard of Putty before, did some googling, ended up on a homebrew forum thread dedicated to that particular beer...
Definitely getting more Galaxy upfront and a sweaty socks mosaic style after. But that mouthfeel is awesome.
Cool
Big Smoke by the looks of it, their Wit is good, as is the Fruju and Lucky Spring.
