RIP Dobbin (ex-Mosquito, various Brighton gigs). Generous and funny-as, Iām glad to have known him.

The family released a statement today confirming the cause of death. Iām always filled with such sadness that people can get to the point where they believe suicide is the best or only option available.

I have just read this, what amazing people these very few were.

Hey there... I didn't know him from Mosquito : )
I think he did the commute for a few days a week, early on. He had a Hove business for a bit, worked at Baker St Bikes for a while too.
I just knew him as another down-from-London dad; solid head on shoulders and always looking for the fun in any situation (and didn't take himself too seriously, a rare bird then/there!). -

Mark Keds of Senseless Things. Only 50.

Crazy, so young, what a waste... We gave them one of their first gigs back in '86, they were all 15-16, we weren't that much older but at that age it felt like they were just babies...

Yeah, Iād forgotten he was so young at the start, tbh. He did cane it a bit, last saw him about 3 years ago and he didnāt look great then. RIP.

One of the first gigs I ever went to was them playing in Bristol.

Really? What of?

Thanks, do you know what the cause of death was?

I didn't realise he'd written that song with Pete Doherty, that was a surprise... I also didn't realise he had such a big drug problem but seeing who some of his musical acolytes were maybe it makes a bit more sense now...
I know someone who was mixed up with some of those guys and it fucking destroyed him and everyone around him, but he was beautiful and wrecked so that was totally okay... Mario Testino photographed him, everyone loved him but he was just a useless fucking drunk and junkie at the end of the day... He got kicked out of two/three bands that went on to make loads and loads of money... What a waste of talent...
Anyway, RIP Mark Keds...

Heart attack, as relayed to me. Very sudden.

Mark was one of those people that had always been in the same rooms or gigs since I was about 14. Starting with seeing the senseless things and then for another 30 years.
I played gigs with the lams (or a variety of bands he led) many times & he put us on at the rhythm factory for some infamous gigs - but at that point as tenslon points out Peteās crackhead mates dragged everyone down. I always seem to remember him smiling. Bye Mark.

Yup, the Rhythm Factory, ground zero for all that bollocks... Lots and lots of fresh faced, innocent kids in the crowd and a bunch of junkies up on stage... Strange scene...

Gutted to hear about Mark Keds, saw them many times all over the country. Postcard C.V still very much played.

Kirsty Wark from Newsniight have me the filthiest side eye stare backstage at the rhythm factory once.

Thanks, sad to hear. RIP Dobbin.

Tax dodging billionaire Sir David Barclay has died.
My old mate, Robert Gallagher... Found out he was in a hospice this afternoon, was making arrangements to go see him tomorrow when word came through that he had already passed... Gutted... Vale, Robbie! š¢š¤
