What jersey brands/size do you wear?
-
• #4428
I'm a medium in Rapha,Castelli, Assos and Huub this fits like those smaller than Morvelo and much smaller than Enduras regular sizing. I'm 5"10 67kg 37 inch chest 31 waist and this is skin tight which is what you want from an aero Jersey

I did buy one of these as well if your looking for an aero ish Jersey? Close fitting and has speed silk sleeves but regular length (the endura sleeves almost reach the elbow)

Is 1299 a bargain? I shan't be buying but quite a chunk off RRP

You don't have £4.5k in monthly disposable income?
-
• #4434
I can't even comprehend that kind of spare change :)

i have been hovering over this page for months, but discard the single ring one though, it's useless.

Oh haiiiiii.

Yeah these are surely a good deal for someone who's in the market for a new frameset.
I'm pretty sure they are now even cheaper than what they were a couple of months back.
I first noticed them through the Merlin newsletter, but at the time I don't think they had any 2x frames.
I've recently bought a new frameset but if these had been available earlier I'd defo have snapped it up. -

Yes. Scary biscuits.

Single ring on a Due?
This your own bike? That colour is waaay nicer than the stealth option. Ano blue hope calipers is a nice touch

have you guys seen the stack and reach on those? long and low

Is 1299 a bargain?
For a slippy seatpost?
-
• #4442
Mmmm. Anything that has been discounted like that is usually discounted because nobody wants it. And they don’t want it for a good reason.
-
• #4443
3mm longer reach than my tarmac and stack is 3mm lower than the tarmac
edit - fair doos it might not be for everyone but if its the fit you're after...
dont think anyones gonna build one up for cruising down the shops -

Was this bike panned in reviews? Looks like a decent racey aero bike that can take wide tyres no?
-
• #4445
Dunno, don’t do much / any road riding these days. But they clearly can’t sell them at list price. So why? Massive discounts usually indicate there is something about the product that isn’t quite right.
-

But they clearly can’t sell them at list price
Aye this is fair. I don't really know much about them either but you've made me wonder what the reason is then
Edit - I thought @M_V was making a joke about slipping seat post but few mins on google suggests it is an issue on these frames. In one review, the reviewer say that Gerard Vroomen simply suggested tightening the seat post beyond its recommended torque spec. Hmmmm
-
• #4448
what happens when you do that...
Oh sheeeit.
"Despite generous amounts of carbon paste and a textured seatpost surface, the seatpost kept slipping on the cobbles with the bolts tightened to spec. I checked in with Gerard, who told me to tighten it further. I did, the post made a couple of cringe-inducing sounds, but the post held from there on out."
Taken from here https://www.velonews.com/gear/road-gear/3t-strada-due-review/
Imagine you'd spunked 4k on a frameset and you're supposed to accept the cringe inducing sound of splitting your seat post.

I’ve got a mate who has the Blue and gold Ltd edition who thinks it’s probably gone up in value as it’s rare, despite never riding it because he doesn’t like it
