There is temporary capacity being prepared at Breakspear crematorium in Hillingdon

The last 5 days are in grey to show that they are incomplete.
I'm guessing that of the 529 deaths reported today, 134 were for the same day. The rest were for the previous days which are being topped up. Sadly, its not going to be only 134 deaths today when you look at the data in a couple of days time.

Yep, a couple of very large marquees were erected for the first wave in the overflow car park at Breakspear crematorium.

Yup, that's what I was clumsily trying to say.
However, I'm told that today's "same day" death number is lower than recent Monday figures reported on the day.
Clutching at straws I know.

I hope so! At least hoping that the increasing trend of deaths reverses very soon...

Edit: ah thanks.
Sorry I thought you were referring to my post about Monday’s horrible death toll.

On the cheery mortuary chat, I don't know where they're going instead but Hackney's morgues were full by 4th January :/

Great, now some gorillas have it, too.

Anyone has had issues registering their home testing kits? I have been trying to registering mine and it keeps saying “There is a problem please call xxxxx” trying different devices and different times this evening, nothing.
I don’t want to spend hours waiting on the phone. I can never tell if I have COVID but even if I did, I am feeling much better now and I am day 6 of a bad cough, so in reality, is there any point in pursuing the test? Or get another 1 done?
There isn’t any walk in at the moment and I can’t drive so home testing would be the only option, I think... or can you cycle through a drive through centre?

No.

• #19763
That's shit. You can over here; I've not seen anyone on a scooter but loads on bikes

• #19764
You don't have any walk-in centres near you?
-
• #19765
I thought as that much time has elapsed since you've had symptoms it's now too late for a home test so you'll need to go somewhere? It says all on this on the gov.uk testing site somewhere...
As @Silly_Savage says you can cycle to a walk in centre.

The main problem I think is that the drive-in one mean you sit in the car to test yourself, of which is very tricky on a bicycle in the open.

There are supposed to be a couple of walk-ins within like 20mins walk but I can’t get an appointment. The nearest drive through is actually only about 4 miles. Hence the Q last night.
Maybe I’ll keep trying...

8 days in the UK, so technically I still can if I reorder one and if it comes before 5 tomorrow I can do it, run to the post box and send it...

I think the car forms part of the protection. You don't get out at all.

I haven't had a test in the UK but I've done both forms of drive through test here; where you get out of the car to see the tester and where they reach through the window. The former has never been mentioned as a risk anywhere I've seen.

You test yourself at the drive-in test centres in the UK? Here they lean in and shove the stick down your throat (if you want a nasal test those are all walk-in).

Thanks. V useful read.

I think it varies by location. It was definitely self test inside your car in the North Greenwich testing site we used.

Both drive through sites I’ve been too have been self administered Billingsgate and Burgess Park

We also use that, basically using the car as a shelter instead of going in a cubicle in a walk-in (Deptford).
mortuary at forest gate has been removed, ploughed over, barricaded off and has been seeded with wildflowers to try and develop a wild flower meadow next summer
