Limited progress this weekend... Although partially due to lack of parts and consumable (I thought I had more brake and great cables at home!)
The pedals from Tokyo Bike didn't arrive, they apparently had issues with ups. I stole the pedals from my Pashley so I could at least try the bike, with just the front brake on and without front derailleur.
My cassette, which isn't new (although I thought it was pretty new - also thought it was 8 speed and it's 10, my memory of what things are has eroded with this lengthy refurb process), slips on a couple of sprockets so I need a new one (chain is new 7-8 speed Shimano, so I'll go 8 speed cassette as I don't want to bin that). Anyone knows the max size an old Deore DX MTB long cage derailleur can handle? (Up to 34t ok?) I'm using the thumb shifters as friction so not bothered about pull increment too much.
Otherwise I'm one rear brake cable and one front derailleur cable away from properly trying the bike...
I was pleased that the front brake with power hanger wasn't the head f***k I feared it would be. I may place the inline adjustable barrel somewhere else ultimately, looks a bit weird maybe here.
@jontea will probably wonder why, after my requests for pictures on other threads, I've posted hardly any myself... It was night time when I could try the bike yesterday. But, I did a .GIF of the front brake!
