I really wish it was more effortless! -

Damn this is so good! Great job! I love the combination of colors, especially the black headtube

It looks effortless, that's the beauty of it!

Really classy. Love the mix of black and silver. Cranks look perfect, too.

Thanks everyone, I'm very pleased : )
Here's a DS shot where you can see the colour better (and that it's made by Varonha, in case @skalliwag is watching!)

It really has come together very nicely!

Oh yeh this is amazing.

Yeah I saw those when I was looking around... kind of good but wasn't sure about the way the head connects. Are they cheekily using the same head for all the different diameters?

That's how they've always been, I think it's just the design. I'm not sure it looks as bad as in that picture

Ah yes, so they have! I thought the flared bit was like a circular sleeve. It seems less offensive now I know it's more of a beak.
Anyway, for now I'm happy with the Condor.
I can't exactly take it back now it's been in the frame. I'm sure this will be an ongoing project though! -

Next on the agenda is the pannier rack - I'm using a Tubus Fly that attaches with a single strut, hence the threaded thing on top of the rear brake bridge. Winston is making a custom stainless strut as the stock alloy one probably wouldn't bend enough to clear the rear brake.
Should be picking it up this afternoon : )
I also still need to figure out where to attach the rear light. I was going to get a rack mount but, since I'm keeping the Galaxy, this bike won't need a rack most of the time.
I'm currently thinking about trying to attach it to the rear mudguard...It's a Bontrager Flare. Mudguards mounts are available for it but they're not particularly elegant and I'm reluctant to drill more holes until I'm sure I've found the right solution!

Not tempted by a rear dyanmo light? There's a wonderfu world of elegant solutions for this plus you'll be full dynabro!
-
• #493
In hindsight maybe...
I decided that a USB light would be sufficient, and give me less grief with wiring. There isn't a huge amount of room under the mudguard and the only way of attaching wires would have been Gorilla tape, which didn't seem like a permanent enough solution.
One day they will invent wireless dynamo lights!

The issues with those is that the adjustment screw is a 3mm allen key, which will round off at some point.
the USE outlet store is worth a look https://ultimateuse.com/ultimate-components/outlet-store

Fair enough, although I'm sure you could do something classy with a Supernova E3 or Son mounted on the saddle rails. Anyway it's hard to argue with a long-lasting rechargable rear light.

They already exist :)

What?!

If I keep the Antares, there are some good 3D printed options that clip into the ICS thing on the saddle.
But that's also where I usually keep my tool bag.... fender seems to be the only place left for a permanent fixing.

I was thinking of asking of asking Raceware to dream up a better fender mount for the Bont Flare.
The stock ones stick out a lot:
